Made In the USA
Koontucky Maine Coons is located in Michigan.
Established in 1984
Backed by 40 years of experience, our goal is to facilitate the selection of the Koontucky kitten best suited to become a cherished member of your family and provide you with a lifetime of breeder support.
Since 1984 we have dedicated our lives to the preservation, protection, and improvement of the Maine Coon breed. We are a long-standing MCBFA Breeder Member and Cattery of Excellence, while abiding by both the TICA Code of Ethics and MCBFA Code of Ethics. Breeding and showing these wonderful cats has been and continues to be our passion. Our everyday lives revolve around our cats. Holistically raised on a raw diet, their health and well-being is given every consideration.
Our history
Koontucky Maine Coons began in the spring of 1984 in Louisville, KY.
Our first Maine Coon was shown to her Grand Championship in CFA, TICA and ACFA. "Zoom" was the first female Maine Coon to be awarded Grand Championship status in all three associations.
In 1998 Koontucky relocated to Michigan

History
In 1993, we were blessed to acquire
"The World's Most Perfect Cat!"
Majerle exemplified the Maine Coon Cat breed
standard both in type & temperament. His show career was phenomenal, but he was so much more than that, he was my heart.
Majerle passed on his outstanding looks and temperament down through the generations. His direct tail male line continues to this day through Koontucky Succession.
Majerle lost a two year battle with fibrosarcoma on March 16, 2000 and is waiting for me at The Rainbow Bridge.
Words cannot adequately express our thanks to Judith Null for this once in a lifetime cat.
We miss him desperately.
Show Record
In his first show, at four months and two days old, Majerle was awarded six Best All Breed Kitten awards and was TICA Great Lakes Region Best Maine Coon Kitten.
As an adult, Majerle only attended four shows. Even with very limited showing he earned the title of Supreme Grand Champion. Majerle was awarded Best Maine Coon Cat in the TICA Great Lakes Region, Second Best All Breed Cat in the Great Lakes Region and garnered four "Best of The Best In Show" awards.

From 1996 to 2009 Koontucky developed several new foundation lines from native New England breeding stock. We partnered with other breeders working with foundation lines to bring further diversity to the Maine Coon gene pool. We are very pleased that these lines can be found throughout the world. Over the next year, we plan to add historical information about these cats to our website
